Tivat, Montenegro (25 July 2017) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković noted earlier today while visiting Porto Montenegro that the Government and the Office of the Prime Minister are available to investors on a daily basis, as the Government's goal is to create the most favourable environment for investments and investors.

He expressed satisfaction with what he saw in Porto Montenegro, saying that the visit was organised on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the company, as well as due to the fact that Porto Montenegro has acquired the status of the best marina in the world.

"I want to express satisfaction with the results that have been achieved. Porto Montenegro has changed the image of Montenegro. Development plans and the company's vision show that this will be a high quality and more prestigious destination that will be available worldwide and contribute to the development of our economy, "said the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister congratulated the Executive Director of Porto Montener David Margason on the success and reiterated that, as before, the Government remains fully committed to improving the business environment in order to make the best use of the country's resorces and provide a higher standard and quality of life.

PM Marković said that a consortium, consisting of the renowned Dutch shipbuilding company Damen and Porto Montenegro, has purchased a part of the infrastructure of the Adriatic Shipyard in Bijela, and it will invest EUR 20 million in the next three years.

Porto Montenegro's Executive Director David Margason briefed reporters on the plans of the company, saying that new investments are in the pipeline.

Answering a reporter's question about the future of the Tivat airport, Prime Minister Marković said that the Government will do everything to valorise the airports as quickly as possible in order to create new opportunities for development.

The Prime Minister also met in Tivat with the representatives of the Damen company, which, together with Porto Montenegro, has purchased a part of the Adriatic Shipyard's infrastructure.

"The procedure in the Commercial Court is over. I understand that the concession procedure is going on well and we will start the second phase in September," said PM Marković.

The Prime Minister reiterated that he is satisfied with this acquisition and that this and similar projects will be backed up by the Government.

"We appreciate your support. We will work together to achieve great goals. Porto Montenegro and Damen are on the same track, as we understand the need to have a shipyard on the Adriatic coast, " said Director of the Damen company.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the Damen's presence in Montenegro, considering it a privilege to have such a renowned company in Montenegro.

"This opportunity must not be missed," the Prime Minister underscored.
