Žarko Šturanović, longtime Secretary-General of Government of Montenegro, passes away

Žarko Šturanović, a longtime Secretary-General of the Government of Montenegro, passed away on Thursday, 3 August, 2017, after an extended illness. At the moment of death, Žarko Šturanović was serving as the Adviser to the Prime Minister.

His high level of professionalism, loyalty and dedication to the work has made an unremitting contribution to all the successes of the Government.

Žarko Šturanović was born in Nikšić in 1954. He graduated from the Faculty of Law.

He served as the Secretary-General of the Government from 2003 to 2016.

He also hold the posts of the Deputy Interior Minister and Director of the Institute for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions.

During his working career, Žarko Šturanović performed responsible duties in the Ministry of the Interior, Republic Secretariat for Judiciary and Administration and the Republic Committee for Urban Planning, Construction, Housing and Utilities.

He started his professional career at the Steel Plant Boris Kidrič in Nikšić.
