Commemoration of longtime Secretary-General of Government Žarko Šturanović takes place in Podgorica
Podgorica, Montenegro (8 August 217) – On the occasion of the death of longtime Secretary - General of the Government of Montenegro Žarko Šturanović, a commemoration took place in Podgorica, where, in the presence of the family, top state officials, colleagues and friends, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Zoran Pažin paid tribute to the deceased Government's official.
"I have a sad, difficult, but honourable duty to pay tribute to Žarko on behalf of the Government of Montenegro, on which Žarko left an indelible mark with his honesty, devoted work, honesty, humanity, willingness to do his best for what he believed in - justice, freedom, peace, equality, independent, democratic and prosperous Montenegro for the benefit of all its citizens. With his human power and unshakable faith, he strengthened us all in the struggle for these values, which he was unselfishly committed to, not looking after the health risk that such devoted, dedicated and uncompromising work carries," said DPM Pažin.
Speaking about the life and work of Žarko Šturanović, the Deputy Prime Minister reflected on numerous and responsible duties he performed in the Steel Plant "Boris Kidrič", JAT, Republic Committee for Urbanism, Construction, Housing and Utilities, Republic Secretariat for Justice and Administration, Republic Administrative and Legal Inspectorate, Ministry of the Interior and the Institute for Execution of Criminal Sanctions.
"Žarko was always where he could make his best contribution to the welfare and progress of society through his hard work, professionalism and ethics. He hold the responsible post of the Deputy Interior Minister in two mandates during the challenging years from 1995 to 2001, and then he served for 15 wonderful and unforgettable years for all of us, his colleges and friends, as the Secretary-General of the Government of Montenegro and, ultimately, as the Advisor to the Prime Minister, making by his personality, worthy of every respect, a strong contribution to all the successes of the highest executive authority, our state and society as a whole, "said Deputy Minister Pažin.
"When the great trees fall down, the entire forest is moaning, but one lives while their works are alive. His spirit, serenity and humour, his strong personality will remains part of us forever," Deputy Prime Minister Pažin emphasised.
