US Senate delegation visits Montenegro: Montenegro remains regional stability promoter
Podgorica, Montenegro (11 August 2017) -- Deputy Prime Minister Zoran Pažin hosted earlier today a delegation of the United States Senate, headed by Senator Roy Blaunt.
Assessing the visit as another sign of continuing intensive cooperation and support for Montenegro, DPM Pažin pointed to the importance of the US presence in Montenegro and the region in order to promote the values of Western democracies. Recalling the visit of the Vice President of the United States Mike Penea to Montenegro, and the encouragement given to the NATO membership of the country, Deputy Prime Minister Pažin stressed that Montenegro will be a committed partner and will support the idea of further NATO enlargement to other aspiring countries. He also added that Montenegro remains committed to strengthening good neighbourly relations, as well as spreading the idea of the importance of stability of the region and its integration into the developed democracies of Western societies.
Discussing the situation in Montenegro and the region, DPM Pažin thanked the United States for the continuous cooperation through the exchange of information on current security challenges.
The overall presence of the US investors in Montenegro was also positively evaluated, and it was concluded that further activities of senators could be of assistance in the areas of importance for further economic development of Montenegro.
