Prime Minister Marković meets with Prince Bin Talal: Kingdom Holding Company interested in projects in Montenegro

Budva, Montenegro (26 August 2017) – Prime Minister Duško Marković met earlier today with Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal bin Abdulaziz al Saud, a Saudi businessman, investor and philanthropist who is spending a part of his holiday in Montenegro. The main topic of the meeting, held at the Prince’s yacht Kingdom 5KR anchored in front of Budva, was his interest to invest in Montenegro.
PM Marković informed Prince Bin Talal about economic and investment potentials of Montenegro, noting that the country is honoured by his visit and his interest to invest. “Your stay in Montenegro is an opportunity we do not want to miss”, Prime Minister Marković said. Speaking of the investment climate as a dominant preoccupation of respectable investors such as Prince Bin Talal, PM Marković stressed that Montenegro irreversibly pursues its Western-oriented integration path adopting the European and Euro-Atlantic value system. PM Marković added that Montenegro cherishes its multi-ethnic harmony, which makes it even more attractive for investments of the Prince’s Kingdom Holding Company, bearing in mind his worldview.
PM Marković also informed Prince Bin Talal about the current political, economic and social situation in Montenegro, emphasising the good results Montenegro has achieved in its fiscal consolidation. He stressed that Montenegro has the largest economy growth in the region, and that one of the Government’s key priorities at the moment is the strenghthening of its institutional capacities in order to make the already most favourable investment environment in the region even more attractive. “IT indicates our strategic commitment and our vision of development as a prestigious tourist destination,” Prime Minister said.
Prince Bin Talal commended Montenegro’s wise decision and strategic commitment to develop elite tourism, mentioning several countries whose touris industry has made a tremendous progress thanks to similar decisions. In that regard, Prince Bin Talal expressed his interest for cooperation.
The business meeting was held in very warm atmosphere and Prince Bin Talal expressed interest in specific locations saying that it would be his pleasure to contribute to Montenegro’s development as an investor. At the end of the meeting, Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal bin Abdulaziz al Saud said that the most efficient way to concretize further activities would be to have a direct contact with the Prime Minister of Montenegro in order for the two sides to try to arrange concrete project cooperation.
Prince Bin Talal was twice named one of the most creative investors in the world by Forbes Magazine while his Kingdom Holding Company represents one of the most successful and diversified international companies worldwide. The value of the company is estimated at 17 billion dollars.
Prince Bin Talal is the largest individual shareholder of the Citigroup and the second-largest voting shareholder of the 21st Century Fox. He owns Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris and co-owns the hotel chains Four Seasons and Mövenpick.
