PM Marković meets with representatives of Deutsche Telekom Group: Montenegro and DT interested in strategic cooperation in digital economy
Podgorica,
Montenegro (7 September 2017) -- Prime Minister of Montenegro Duško Marković met today with the
representatives of the Deutsche Telekom Group, headed by a member of the Board
of Management of Deutsche Telekom Group for Europe Srini Gopalan.
At the
meeting, Deutsche Telekom Group expressed interest in intensifying activities in
Montenegro within the digital economy. In this context, Mr. Gopalan briefed the
Prime Minister on digital economy projects that the Deutsche Telekom Group
conducted or performed in several European countries.
Prime
Minister Marković said that the Government of Montenegro has already seen the
need for serious progress in the digital agenda. Noting that the digital
economy provides unlimited possibilities for development and that it can be an
additional incentive for the economy, the Prime Minister expressed interest in
cooperation with DT Group, as one of the world leaders in this field. The Prime
Minister said that particularly important is the improvement of public
administration digitisation, as well as projects related to small and
medium-sized enterprises.
The officials
concluded that representatives of the Government of Montenegro and Deutsche
Telekom Group should consider concrete possibilities for strategic cooperation
in a short period of time.
The meeting
was attended by the President of the Management Board (CEO) of Hrvatski Telekom
Davor Tomašković, the new Chief
Executive Officer at Crnogorski Telekom Nikola Ljusev and Director of the
Directorate for Corporate and Legal Affairs of Crnogorski Telekom Pavle Đurović.
Deutsche
Telekom Group operates in more than 50 countries, employs nearly 220,000 people
and generates annual revenue of more than EUR 73 billion.
