EU expert mission on freedom of expression and media in Montenegro

In the period from 11 to 14 September, an expert mission of the European Union and the Council of Europe on freedom of expression and media will pay visit to Montenegro.
The introductory meeting of the expert mission will take place on Monday, 11 September 2017, at the Hilton Hotel, starting at 11:00 am.

The meeting will be opened by Minister of European Affairs Aleksandar Andrija Pejović, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro Aivo Orav and Head of Cooperation Unit, Media and Internet Division in the Directorate General for Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe Lejla Dervišagić.

The expert mission was organised within the joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe "Reinforcing Judicial Expertise on Freedom of Expression and the Media in South-East Europe (JUFREX)", within which the analysis of the media sector is planned.

During the mission, the experts will discuss with representatives of Montenegrin institutions, media, operators, regulators, non-governmental sector and academia about the legal framework of media policy and its implementation, copyright, state aid, development mechanisms and media support, public service, journalistic integrity, self-regulation, media literacy.

Introductory presentations are open to the media.
