DPM Simović: MP Konjević apparently forgot what he knew when he was Minister

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture Mulutin Simović, answering the question of the journalist regarding the statements of MP Raško Konjević about the amount of tax debt, said that there is a dilemma - of which Raško Konjević the journalist thinks.

"Do you mean the statement of Raško Konjević, the former Minister of Finance in the interim Government or the statement of Raško Konjević, the current MP who is boycotting the Parliament," Simović said, answering questions from journalists during today's conference in Donji Kokoti.

"I ask, reminding that as the Minister he has said and recorded that the taxable debt in real terms is EUR 236 million, and now, as a Member of Parliament, he is talking about 700 million debt to be charged," Simović said.

He pointed out that, while MP Konjević persistently criticises the Government's policy in this area, the Government receives – from the relevant international addresses – acknowledgments in relation to the results of financial consolidation measures, among which is the collection of tax debt.

"I will remind you that over 6,000 debt repayment orders have been signed in the total amount of EUR 176 million and I will inform the Montenegrin public that up to now about EUR 15 million has been collected and that we will collect about EUR 20 million by the end of the year. The plan was that it would be 12 million; so 8 million more than planned," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
