PM Marković meets with leadership of Municipality of Žabljak: Cooperation between Government and local community results in extremely successful tourist season

Montenegro (12 September 2017) -- On the occasion of the forthcoming Municipal
Day – 17 September, Prime Minister of Montenegro Duško Marković met today with the leadership of the Municipality of
Žabljak.
Congratulating the management and the citizens of Žabljak on the holiday, the Prime Minister said that the Government recognised the challenges of Žabljak in the past period. Thanks to the effective action and cooperation with the local community, the challenges were answered, which resulted in an extremely successful summer tourist season.
The
Mayor of Žabljak Veselin Vukićević thanked the
Prime Minister and the Government for understanding, saying that the
Government's help in treating the problem of water supply and initiating the
halted projects was precious and that it arrived at the right moment. It is an
obligation more for the Municipality to recognise challenges and chances in the
future, and to continuously pursue activities aimed at improving the tourist
offer and responding to the needs of citizens, the meeting concluded.
Prime Minister Marković reiterated that the Government's strategic commitment is directed towards the Northern Region of Montenegro. In this context, he noted that area of Durmitor with its huge resources should give even greater contribution to the total tourist offer of Montenegro. “As time passes, Žabljak gets more and more important, which means that we should together make further efforts on strengthening the potential and even better use of resources,” the Prime Minister stated.
