On the interlocutors' interest, DPM Pažin informed them about the current situation of reform activities in the field of justice, the fight against corruption, media freedom and the policy of strengthening the civil sector.

Co-rapporteur Stroe said that many positive results are evident in the field of rule of law, and that he is quite optimistic in anticipating the PACE's view on Montenegro in the following period. Co-rapporteur Rigoni emphasised that he appreciates the stability of Montenegro that is being promoted in the region as well. He said that he is aware of the efforts made to achieve Montenegro's previous success on the foreign policy plan, and that the state and the people of Montenegro should be praised for achieved NATO membership.

The special interest of officials during the meeting was focused on getting to know the Government's position on the current political situation in Montenegro. DPM Pažin expressed the hope that the opposition parties will understand the importance of their position in society and acting in the political life of Montenegro. He stated that the Government is fully prepared to talk with opposition representatives within the institutions of Montenegro, especially in the part of the need to fully implement the recommendations of the OSCE/ODIHR Report on the latest parliamentary elections. The officials jointly noted the need to achieve dialogue between the authorities and the opposition, as well as expressed incomprehension for the actions of some opposition parties based on the ultimatum.

According to them, bearing in mind the results achieved in the past period, the need for an intensive and proactive approach of both sides in the context of abolishing the post-monitoring process of the Council of Europe for Montenegro is very important.
