The pupils from Podgorica’s elementary school “21. Maj” talked today with American astronaut Joe Acaba from the International Space Station.
The exclusive interview with the crew was enabled by the Montenegrin Association for Technical Culture and the Radio Club “Podgorica”, within the Science Open Days festival.
The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has included Radio Club “Podgorica” in its ARISS (www.ariss.org) science popularization programme and has made it possible to establish a direct radio link with the crew of the International Space Station.

The pupils had the opportunity to pose very interesting questions to astronauts, such as whether the astronaut suits were heavy, whether they listened to music at the station, how they felt when they left the Earth, whether they saw anything strange in space, etc.
The Minister of Science of Montenegro Dr. Sanja Damjanović addressed the participants at the event and emphasized that she was very pleased that the programme was part of the Science Open Days festival.
In addition, the Minister officially announced the negotiations of the Ministry of Science with the European Space Agency (ESA), which means that one day our pupils and students will have direct contact with astronauts from all over the world.
