Podgorica, Montenegro (16 October 2017) -- Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism Pavle Radulović took part in the show „Jutarnji program“ broadcasted on the Radio and Television of Montenegro earlier this morning.

Minister Radulović took the opportunity to explain that Montenegro has launched a new approach of constructing resorts, adding that branding of the northern part of the coast is completed and that the southern part will be branded in the coming period. In that regard, Minister Radulović mentioned the project Holliday Village in Ulcinj with more than six hundred accommodation capacities filled with tourists from the Western Europe and Scandinavia.

By signing the Paris Agreement, Montenegro will reiterate its commitment to continuation of the joint fight against the negative impact of climate change along with other signatory states, Minister Radulović explained, adding that although Montenegro is globally a small pollutant, it became a part of the global action committed to 30 percent reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. This is the legally binding document and Montenegro is willing to contribute to reducing gas emission despite of the fact that it is a small pollutant, Minister Radulović underlined.

Answering the question related to the negotiation Chapter 27, Minister Radulović underlined that Montenegro has received a positive signal from the European Commission based on the analysis of the Report on fulfilment of the initial benchmark, meaning that Montenegro is ready to start negotiations under the Chapter 27. He voiced belief that Montenegro will submit a revised version in mid-October, adding that this chapter is not only the most difficult, but also the most expensive one.

Speaking of the remediation of the black spots in Montenegro, Minister Radulović said that Montenegro made a notable progress in this area, but there is space for improvement in the coming period. He underlined that tender for the repair of the grit landfill in Bijela is still ongoing and that it will be closed in ten days.
