Ministers Darmanović and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan sign agreement on abolition of visas for Montenegrin citizens
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (16 October 2017) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Srđan Darmanović met earlier today during the official visit of Abu Dhabi with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of United Arab Emirates.
On that occasion, ministers Darmanović and Al-Nahjan signed the Protocol Amending the Agreement between the Governments of Montenegro and the UAE on Mutual Visa Exemption for Diplomatic and Official Passport Holders, which will enable the Montenegrin citizens - holders of ordinary passports to enter and stay in the UAE up to 90 days, without visa.
It was pointed out that the signing of the Agreement is highly significant for the development and strengthening of relations between the UAE and Montenegro.
Minister Darmanović said that the favourable visa regime and the already established Tivat-Dubai airline will influence the further growth of tourism traffic and the intensification of contacts in various spheres between the two nations.
Minister Al-Nahjan stressed that it is agreed to sign two more agreements in the time to come, which will significantly upgrade bilateral relations.
The meeting also discussed the proposals for continuation and improvement of overall cooperation, with special emphasis on tourism, investment, infrastructure, energy and agriculture.
During the visit, Minister Darmanović laid a wreath on a monument to the victims of the Wahat Al Karama fighters.
