Skopje, Macedonia (17 October 2017) -- After the Summit of 100 business leaders from South Eastern Europe in Skopje, a joint press conference was held, where the speakers were Prime Ministers Zoran Zaev, Duško Marković, Edi Rama and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić.

Thanking the prime ministers for participation, host Zoran Zaev pointed out that the Summit expressed strong support to the businessmen and the business community of the entire region, and that the business sector represents a significant resource in achieving the standards of the European Union, and that such initiatives and meetings are an opportunity to do a lot.

At the press conference, Prime Minister Duško Marković thanked Prime Minister Zaev for warm hospitality during yesterday's bilateral visit to this day, stressing that this is yet another confirmation of the progress of overall relations in the Western Balkans region.

Prime Minister Marković emphasised that he will continue to strongly support this new practice of direct talks and intensive meetings of the leaders of countries of the region, as he believes that this is the best way to avoid misunderstanding, to strengthen mutual trust, and finally – to achieve a key common goal, which is a peaceful and prosperous life for all our citizens.

Stressing that this was also an opportunity to exchange opinions and ideas with a number of successful businessmen from the region, he pointed to the commitment of the Government of Montenegro to strongly support foreign investors because we are aware, as Prime Minister Marković noted, that without their money, but even more knowledge and experience, we can not accelerate the growth of the Montenegrin economy.

The Prime Minister added that the Government will simultaneously pay full attention to successful businessmen from our country, their business ideas and investments. "We consider it equally important for our economy. Finally, we agreed that the entire region, and every country individually, will have the greatest benefit from foreign investors if we bring their businesses into the regional framework," Prime Minister Marković said.

"I believe that we are really moving in the right direction and I look at the prospects for the growth of our economies with real optimism, as well as at the European and Euro-Atlantic perspectives of all aspirants for membership in NATO and the European Union, for which Montenegro will continue to provide strong support," the Prime Minister of Montenegro concluded.
