DPM Pažin hosts French Senator Conway-Mouret

Podgorica, Montenegro (20 October 2017) – Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Interior and Foreign Policy Zoran Pažin hosted earlier today member of the Senate of France Hélène Conway-Mouret, who is paying a working visit to Montenegro.
DPM Pažin thanked Ms Conway-Mouret for France’s support during Montenegro’s accession to NATO, voicing belief that France will continue recognizing Montenegro’s progress in pursuing the EU agenda. DPM Pažin also informed French Senator about the current momentum within the EU accession process, particularly emphasizing the activities in the field of the rule of law. DPM thanked Ms Conway-Mouret for France’s support in preparatory activities and transfer of good practice related to the codification of the civil law.
French Senator Conway-Mouret congratulated Montenegro on the membership in NATO, adding that France will continue its contribution to Montenegro’s EU accession process at both political and expert levels. Having in mind Montenegro’s status in the International Organization of La Francophonie, she highlighted the importance of the activities which both states are implementing in terms of promoting the French language.
The two officials noted that the Government of Montenegro and the line ministry are carrying out the activities aimed at supporting Montenegrin Diaspora in France when it comes to learning the French language.
The meeting stressed that the two countries should strengthen ties when it comes to presenting Montenegro’s economic potentials among the French investors. Tourist capacities of Montenegro should be promoted in the coming period in order to increase the number of French tourists visiting the country during the summer and winter tourist season, the meeting pointed out.
