DPM Simović and Chinese Ambassador Cui sign exchange of letters between Government of Montenegro and Government of People’s Republic of China

Podgorica, Montenegro (20 October 2017) – Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Financial System and Minister of Agriculture Milutin Simović and Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Montenegro Cui Zhiwei signed earlier today the exchange of letters on the implementation of the feasibility study related to the reconstruction of the Đurđevića Tara Bridge.
Exchange of letters represents implementation of the Agreement on economic and technical cooperation between the two countries, which agreed that the Government of the People’s Republic of China will provide EUR 2,55 million (20 million yuan) for the reconstruction of the Đurđevića Tara Bridge.
China will send experts to Montenegro in the coming period, in order to make a draft feasibility study for the reconstruction of the Bridge.
DPM Simović and Ambassador Cui noted that the two countries cherish good and friendly relations at all levels of the mutual interest. Today’s exchange of letters additionally confirms good cooperation between Montenegro and China and it demonstrates the willingness of the both countries to implement agreements within the deadline.
The two officials agreed that the cooperation should be strengthened in various areas, particularly in tourism, agriculture, transport, energy and infrastructure.
