Podgorica, Montenegro (27 October 2017) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković met with a senior delegation of TUI Group – the largest travel and tourism company in the world, and Karisma Hotels & Resorts, which recently leased Ulcinj Riviera.

The meeting expressed mutual satisfaction with the entry of these renowned tourist companies into the Montenegrin market and concluded that this is only the beginning of a strategic partnership that provides many opportunities for expanding cooperation in new projects in Montenegro. The aim is to expand the offer of TUI, on the one hand, and on the other, to create new jobs and opportunities for citizens of Montenegro.

TUI Executive Board Member David Burling, who led the delegation of TUI and Karisma, said that it is planned to open several new flights next year which would allow tourists from the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Russia and Poland to come to Montenegro.

Prime Minister Marković noted that the return of TUI to Montenegro, the country where this company was 40 years ago, is proof of the stability and competitiveness of our country for investments from the world's leading companies.

He added that the arrival of TUI to Montenegro is an honor, but also a challenge. TUI is a global leader in tourism, as he said, and is a privilege for every country. It is up to us to take this chance,” the Prime Minister said.

Prime Minister Marković informed his guests about the successful outcome of the first phase of fiscal consolidation, as well as the economic priorities of the Government in the upcoming period.

“In terms of best use of resources, the improvement of transport infrastructure is an absolute priority,” the Prime Minister said, adding that this refers to improving road, port and rail infrastructure, but above all to raising the level of our airports. In this context, representatives of TUI and Karisma were interested in whether the Government plans to build an airport in the region of Ulcinj.

At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister Marković encouraged guests in their plans to expand business to Montenegro, saying that our country should not allow any omissions, especially when it comes to prestigious partners.

Next to David Burling, the delegation of TUI and Karisma Hotels & Resorts included: Managing Director of Product and Purchasing, TUI Group Garry Wilson; Managing Director of TUI UK & Ireland Nick Longman; Director in Turkey, Balkans and Strategic Chains at TUI Group Igor Vučelić; Co-Owner of Karisma Hotels & Resorts Ljubiša Krstajić and Director of Business Development, Karisma Hotels & Resorts Nemanja Kostić
