DPM Pažin meets with Austrian Ambassador Janković: Montenegro is leader in European integration process

Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Internal and Foreign Policy Zoran Pažin met today with newly-appointed Austrian Ambassador to Montenegro Anna Janković.

Referring to quality bilateral relations between Montenegro and Austria, DPM Pažin wished Ambassador Janković a successful term. Recalling the forthcoming Austrian Presidency of the EU Council in the second half of 2018, the Deputy Prime Minister has voiced Montenegro's full commitment to progress in the European integration process, and assessed that next year could be crucial for a successful continuation of the EU membership negotiation process.

Ambassador Janković stated that Montenegro is the leader in the region in the process of European integration. She said that it can be expected that Austria, as a traditional promoter of EU enlargement policy, will continue to support Montenegro's European integration in the following period.

The two officials exchanged views on other important issues for the further development of bilateral relations between the two countries.
