Press Release: Meeting of the Minister Nurković with the EBRD Central and South East Europe Managing Director Charlotte Ruhe and the Head of the EBRD Resident Office in Montenegro Jaap Sprey

After the nomination of Charlotte Ruhe as the EBRD Central and South East Europe Managing Director, the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Osman Nurković together with his associates had the first official meeting with Ms. Ruhe and the Head of the EBRD Resident Office in Montenegro Jaap Sprey.

The interlocutors put emphasis on the extremely good cooperation which the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs had with EBRD in the previous period, and expressed their mutual expectation that the cooperation will continue and advance in the future.

Minister Nurković spoke about the significance of projects which have been implemented in cooperation and with the support of EBRD, and noted that there remains a significant space for further cooperation in the field of road and railway infrastructure, as well as in the aspects related to airport valorization.

EBRD Central and South East Europe Managing Director Ms. Ruhe informed the Minister Nurković of the 10 million euro resources which the Board of Directors already approved, and of the tranche for the reconstruction of the main road Rožaje-Špiljani – the signing of the Contract for withdrawal of these resources is expected soon.

Minister Nurković emphasized the importance of the reconstruction of this main road and expressed conviction that EBRD will continue to be a trusted partner of the Government of Montenegro in the upcoming period when it comes to advancing transport infrastructure in the country.
