Podgorica, Montenegro (8 November 2017) -- Collegium for Negotiations on the Accession of Montenegro to the European Union, chaired by Prime Minister Duško Marković, held the 18th regular session, which assessed that the continuation of a successful European integration process, in which our country is leading in relation to other candidate countries, implies the highest level of organisation, responsibility and commitment to the obligations of all the entities involved in the process.

It was noted that it is necessary to achieve a high level of up-to-date compliance with the commitments of the European agenda.

Considering the specific effect of ministries and their obligations under each negotiating chapter individually, the Collegium concluded that it is appropriate to hold a special session of the Government on the topic of European integration in order to make the best possible use of the current integration process by concrete conclusions and recommendations to all subjects engaged in negotiations, and to ensure a high level of commitment ands sustaining the dynamics in the following period.

The Collegium analysed the situation in the field of rule of law in terms of the upcoming working paper of the European Commission on the Rule of Law in Montenegro and the  fulfillment of interim benchmarks for Chapters 23 and 24. It was concluded that the good results of the implementation of the action plans for chapters 23 and 24 show that in the field of rule of law, obligations are implemented intensively both from the legislative and from the institutional framework.
