Press release from 4th session of National Investment Commission

Podgorica, Montenegro (8 November 2017) -- The National Investment Commission, chaired by Prime Minister Duško Marković, considered and adopted at its Fourth session held earlier today, the Information about the implemented activities after updating the Single list of priority infrastructure projects with the Proposal for a list of key priority infrastructure projects, and gave consent to the projects proposed under the 3rd Call to Co-Finance Infrastructure Investments.

As announced, grants from bilateral donors in the amount of EUR 9 million, as well as a certain amount of support for the preparation of technical documentation were officially approved in accordance with the conclusions of the Summit of the Western Balkans Six held on 12 July this year in Trieste. In total, EUR 16.4 million were allocated to Montenegro.

The Secretariat for Development Projects informed the National Investment Commission about the fact that Montenegro applied for two applications within the framework of the 18 Call for Technical Preparation, the process of which is carried out by NIPAK (National IPA Coordinator) Office and the Ministry of European Affairs. Also, the National Investment Commission gave its approval to four applications submitted to NIPAK Office within the 3rd Call for Investments.

At the session, a Draft of the list of projects that is expected to be finalised in the first quarter of 2018, was presented as well.

Members of the National Investment Commission supported the proposal to consider that the project for the establishment of the International Institute for the Development of Sustainable Technologies in the area of South-East Europe with the mission “Science for Peace” is included in the Single List. The Secretariat for Development Projects is in charge of continuing activities for this purpose and informing the Commission about the results in the first quarter of 2018.
