Podgorica, Montenegro (15 November 2017) -- Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Financial System Milutin Simović handed today the keys to the apartments for 120 families of Camp Konik, who are members of the most vulnerable group of people from Konik area.

“If we had given up back on this path or had made political compromises for short-term goals with structures that had some other visions, Montenegro would not have been a place of new hopes and shelter,” DPM Simović said.

DPM Simović reiterated that, as many times in its history, Montenegro showed solidarity, understanding and unselfish willingness in the near past to open the door for all those who need help, and who consider Montenegro as their new home and new hope.

“Ever since it faced the challenge of hosting refugees, over 1500 residential units have been built in Montenegro for the needs of these people. Financial support for numerous projects was provided by the Government of Montenegro, NGOs, international partners and donors,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

DPM Simović congratulated the families that resolved today the housing issue on behalf of the Government of Montenegro, urging them to start a new life from this day in a positive atmosphere and environment, which will be a motive to contribute to the better life of their most beloved and Montenegrin society to which they belong.
