Sixth China-CEEC summit held in Budapest
The sixth meeting of heads of government of China and 16 Central and Eastern European Countries (China-CEEC summit) was held today in Budapest, within the so-called 16 + 1 mechanism of cooperation. Delegation of the Government of Montenegro was led by Prime Minister Duško Markovic.
The main theme of the Summit was "Deepening economic, trade and financial cooperation for "win-win" development".
Future directions in the cooperation of China and sixteen CEE countries have been presented, and the "Budapest Guidelines" have been adopted, a document defining activities and coordination plans to improve cooperation in trade, investment, industry, energy, science, technology, financial cooperation, agriculture, forestry, environment protection, health and interpersonal exchanges.
The guidelines confirm the attitude of the participating countries of the "16 + 1" Mechanism that this form of cooperation is an important part of overall cooperation between China and Europe as a whole. China has confirmed that it attaches great importance to strategic partnership with the EU and that it wants to see a united, stable and prosperous Europe.
During the Summit, numerous bilateral agreements have been signed. The Innovative-entrepreneurial centre "Tehnopolis" from Nikšić and the Chinese company "China Baoding Rui Fu De Investment", which has already successfully invested in the establishment of a private health institution in Montenegro – "Kina Medika", signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of implementing the project of planting and processing of Chinese herbs in Montenegro and other related projects.
The Business Forum was also held, which was attended by some two thousand businessmen from 35 countries, including representatives of several Montenegrin companies.
