PM Marković hosts representatives of Azmont Investments: PortoNovi Project is successfully progressing with Government's full support
Prime Minister Duško Marković hosted representatives of PortoNovi, led by Ahmet Erentok, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azmont Investments, which owns the resort.
The topic of the meeting was the further development of tourism through the enrichment of the tourist offer and in this context the promotion of Montenegro and its branding as an elite tourist destination. The Prime Minister informed the guest about the Government's plans to continue without delay with the restoration and improvement of the traffic infrastructure, and in particular to put our airports into operation as soon as possible in order to significantly contribute to the Montenegrin tourism and overall development of Montenegro. PM Marković informed the guest about the concrete steps that the Government has already taken on this plan.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azmont Investments expressed satisfaction with the Government's plan to raise the level of the airports in Tivat and Podgorica. Ahmet Erentok estimated that the improvement of the offer at Tivat Airport, with the planned construction of the bypass around Tivat and the Verige bridge, would position this airport as the key communication point for the northern part of the Bay of Kotor which in terms of air traffic gravitates to Dubrovnik Airport.
Prime Minister Marković and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azmont Investments discussed in detail the further plans of this company in Montenegro, especially in the context of visibly improved investment climate and country's rating.
Mr Erentok informed the Prime Minister that the works on the PortoNovi project run according to projected dynamics and added that in 2018 alone will be invested about EUR 290 million (EUR 288,131,000), which is as an approximate amount of the previous investment during the the past four years.
Prime Minister Duško Marković expressed his satisfaction with the successful development of the PortoNovi project, saying that he always believed in this project, which he considers as one of the most important investments in Montenegro. The Government of Montenegro, the Prime Minister said, fully supports this important development project and is ready to speed up all procedures to the maximum, thus contributing to the faster and more quality valorization of our resources.
The meeting was also attended by Adviser to the Prime Minister for Foreign Investments Vladimir Beratović and Deputy Executive Director of Azmont Investments, Chief Operations Officer Stevan Milić.
