On the second day of the meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels, a session was held within the NATO-Georgia Commission, where practical and political support was given to Georgia as an aspirant for membership in the Alliance.

The Allies also talked about projecting the Alliance's stability and achieved results in the fight against terrorism. In this context, Minister Darmanović expressed Montenegro's support to the unity and solidarity of the Alliance and the commitment of our country to the fulfillment of common goals.

In order to respond to contemporary challenges and strengthen collective security in a timely manner, the ministers agreed to improve the policy of deterrence and defence, to continue dialogue and support for partners in Eastern Europe.

Within discussion on the open door policy, Minister Darmanović emphasised the importance of credible implementation of this policy towards all aspirants. He assessed that Montenegrin membership has positive implications for the whole region and that it can be an incentive for regional aspirants to work on meeting standards and conditions for NATO membership.

The ministers also discussed the results achieved this year and provided guidance for the upcoming Summit of the Alliance, scheduled for July 2018.
