DPM Simović speaks with representatives of Municipality of Andrijevica
Andrijevica,
Montenegro (8 December 2017) -- During his working visit to Andrijevica, the
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simović had a special meeting
with the Mayor of the Municipality Srđo
Mašović and his associates. On that occasion, they discussed the current
development projects, as well as possibilities for using the potential for
further development of the municipality through new projects.
The
meeting considered extremely positive expectations from the projects of House of
Fruit and the new water bottling factory, which were presented earlier today as
new and significant investment projects not only for the development of
Andrijevica, but also for the wider area of the North of Montenegro. The officials
also discussed other current projects that are being implemented in the field
of agriculture, the use of hydropower plants for the production of energy by
the construction of small hydro-power plants, as well as wood processing. They
estimated that the Municipality of Andrijevica is on the right track and that
it is necessary to continue developing projects based on the use of natural
resources, in order to speed up the growth of the local economy and improve the
quality of life of the inhabitants of that region. The importance of
encouraging new initiatives that can contribute to the best use of tourism potentials
of Andrijevica was also underlined.
DPM
Simović congratulated the local government on everything that was achieved in
the last period, especially issuing a household relationship that resulted in
the financial stability of the municipality, but also creating an
entrepreneurial spirit in the municipality as a precondition for opening new
jobs.
DPM Simović
congratulated the Municipality of Andrijevica on the initiative to start up development
projects itself, such as the construction of a small HPP on the city
waterworks, significant revenues from which are expected, according to the
municipal budget. Summing up the results achieved in Andrijevica in the
shrinking agriculture, he said that he is looking forward to a significant
number of beneficiaries who took advantage of the support measures of the
Ministry of Agriculture and projects that are being implemented with
international partners.
Mayor
of the Municipality of Andrijevica Srđo Mašović also expressed great
satisfaction with the realisation of two new investments in the municipality,
which, as he said, give a new perspective for the development and the remainder
of young people especially, in the area of Andrijevca. The House of Fruit, as
he pointed out, will be the best way to implement and improve the production of
raspberries and blueberries, an agricultural activity that has been recognised
as a resource for the development of Andrijevica.
The
Mayor of Andrijevica assessed that the local government did a lot in the
previous period in cooperation with the Government in terms of stimulating and
developing projects that bring development and new jobs, based on the use of
natural resources, and that activities will continue in that direction even
more intensively. Special emphasis was placed on the potential for further development
in the fields of agriculture, hydro-power, water, wood processing and tourism.
He thanked the Government of Montenegro and the Ministry of Agriculture for
support, as well as the Directorate of Public Works.
