The International Atomic Energy Agency approves two projects worth about EUR 685,000 to Montenegro

Within the Technical Cooperation Programme for the period of 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2019, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), headquartered in Vienna, Republic of Austria, approved two national projects in the amount of EUR 684,090 to Montenegro.

These are:

- “Improving Paediatric Diagnostic in Computed Tomography Examinations”, submitted by the Clinical Centre of Montenegro and

- “Strengthening Technical and Institutional Capacities of the National Reference Laboratory for Food and Feed Control”, submitted by the Centre for Eco-Toxicological Research of Montenegro.

The total value of both projects is EUR 684,090.00.

The project implementation will start on 1 January 2018 and the completion is planned on 31 December 2019.

The approved projects are a continuation of Montenegro’s successful cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, in terms of support for equipping laboratories, procurement of equipment for the needs of Montenegrin scientific research institutions, and the development of human resources through a system of scientific visits, seminars, scholarships, workshops and training courses abroad.

Within the approved Technical Cooperation Programme for the above period of time, the IAEA has approved both regional and inter-regional projects to be financed, with the possibility for Member States to show interest in participating in individual projects by 15 December 2017.

Participation in these projects provides the opportunities for training of staff and procurement of small equipment.
