Foreign Ministry: Montenegro committed to "two-states solution" for Israeli-Palestinian conflict

Podgorica, Montenegro (14 December 2017) -- Montenegro expresses concern about the latest developments and their possible consequences for the Middle East peace process. We believe that it is necessary to continue working on creating conditions for direct and substantive negotiations that will contribute to finding a final and sustainable solution acceptable to both sides.

Montenegro highlights its commitment to the international solution of the decades-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict through the proposed "two states" concept. We are in favour of the positions set out in the UN Security Council's resolutions, which represent a realistic option for establishing lasting peace and security in these countries, but also in the region as a whole.

Montenegro fosters good and friendly relations both with the State of Palestine and with the State of Israel, and remains committed to their further development based on mutual respect and willingness to promote overall political, economic, cultural and scientific contacts.
