Montenegro, China sign conclusions of field research for feasibility study for reconstruction of Đurđevića Tara bridge

Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Osman Nurković and Director of the Department for International Assistance of the Ministry of Trade of the People's Republic of China signed the Conclusions of the field research for the development of the feasibility study for the donor project for reconstruction of the Đurđevića Tara bridge. Deputy Prime Minister Milutin Simović and Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Montenegro Cui Zhiwei attended the signing ceremony. The Chinese expert working group has been in Montenegro since 3 December 2017.

The Montenegrin and Chinese teams agreed on plans for the implementation of the project, specific requests and proposals, while the Chinese side conducted research of the area covered by the project and became acquainted with topography, morphology, as well as the current state of the bridge, the conditions of public facilities and traffic and accompanying infrastructure, goals of environmental protection, etc.

By signing the Conclusions, the conditions for the start of the feasibility study have been created, followed by the preliminary and main bridge reconstruction project, which will enable project implementation during the next construction season.

At the meeting of DPM Simović and Minister Nurković with the delegation of the Ministry of Trade of the People's Republic of China, Ambassador Cui and representatives of the Chinese expert team, which followed the signing, it was mutually confirmed that the Đurđevića Tara bridge symbolizes the strong friendship between Montenegro and the People's Republic of China and its people. The reconstruction will further strengthen good bilateral relations and make the bridge more attractive for tourists from all over the world, especially for Chinese tourists.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the announcement of new donor funds for the implementation of joint projects, which will not only increase the friendship of the two countries, but will also contribute to economic exchange and increase of the living standard of citizens.
