Press conference following 55th Cabinet session

Podgorica, Montenegro (21 December 2017) -- Press conference following 55th Cabinet session was held today, 21 December 2017, at the Press Centre of the Government.

At today's Cabinet session, the Government adopted the Draft Law on signing the Agreement on the establishment of the transport community. Transport Minister Osman Nurković said at today's press conference that the Agreement on the establishment of the transport community in the Western Balkans region is the most important document in the future period that is signed between the EU and the member countries of Southeast Europe. This Agreement is of great importance to Montenegro and will have multiple positive effects in terms of creating opportunities for additional investment in the region, increasing competitiveness, boosting growth and creating new jobs.

According to the Director General of the Directorate for Electronic Administration and IT Security Milica Janković, new Cyber Security Strategy for 2018/2021, adopted at today's Cabinet session, aims to develop a compatible process with clearly defined strategic objectives with those countries where the cyber security field is quite developed (EU and NATO countries), thus creating a precondition for a safer cyber space in Montenegro.

At today's session, the Government adopted a new Strategy of Scientific Research Activity aimed at improving international cooperation, reducing the outflow of talent from Montenegro with the construction of new generations of researchers, as well as financing projects that will focus on the technological recovery of Montenegro, Minister of Science Sanja Damjanović said in a press statement following the session.

Minister of Sports Nikola Janović stated today that the Government adopted the Information on the implementation of the school sports competition programme in elementary schools, adding that around 2,000 children from 67 elementary schools are already competing in basketball and volleyball under the new system.
