Session of National Security Council
Session of National Security Council
Podgorica,
Montenegro (25 December 2017) -- The National Security Council, chaired by
Prime Minister Duško Marković, held
its 11th session earlier today in an expanded composition.
The current
security situation in Montenegro was assessed as stable and satisfactory. In this
sense, the Council welcomed the activities of the Minister of the Interior –
the Police Authority, which are being conducted within specific and targeted
operational actions on combating all forms of organised crime, both in the area
of Kotor and the coast, as well as in other cities. This clearly indicates that
the State is determined and able to ensure the stability, peace and security of
citizens and property.
A new
dimension and quality of the inter-institutional action of the law enforcement authorities
in the fight against organised crime was stated at the session, especially in
the line of cooperation between the Special State Prosecutor's Office, the
National Security Agency and the Police Authority. Such cooperation is a
modality for the long-term preservation of the safety and security of the State
and citizens.
The National
Security Council condemns any attempt to endanger and discredit the
institutions of the system, as well as to endanger the authority of the Court
and the Special State Prosecutor's Office with the aim of removing the court
process in the case of terrorism from the Court and passing it on the street
and in the media.
In this
regard, the Council gave its full support to judicial institutions and other
competent bodies in the implementation of legally defined competencies.
