Bošković, Katič stress outstanding relations between Montenegro and Slovenia in field of defence

Minister of Defence Predrag Bošković met today with Minister of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia Andreja Katič.

Bošković expressed his satisfaction with the substantial bilateral cooperation, which is constantly being promoted through exchange of experience, skills and knowledge in the area of defence and security, as well as within regional initiatives. He pointed to the importance of joining the Western Balkans countries to the North Atlantic Alliance as the best guarantee of peace and stability in this part of Europe.

Katič emphasised that Montenegro could count on Slovenia as a reliable partner in all areas, and today's meeting was an excellent opportunity to define the directions for further intensification of cooperation.

The two ministries signed the Agreement on military and technical cooperation, as well as the Agreement on the SKEV Information System. Katić has estimated that the Agreement on military and technical cooperation will further enhance bilateral relations in the field of material resources, while Bošković thanked Slovenian Ministry of Defence for providing software for automated monitoring of the state and flow of material resources.

Minister Bošković met in Ljubljana with President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor. The two officials stated good cooperation between the two countries in the field of defence.

Pahor congratulated Montenegro on significant achievements in fulfilling foreign policy goals, pointing out that our country is a positive example in the Western Balkans, both in the Euro-Atlantic and European integration process. He also said that the Republic of Slovenia would continue to be a reliable ally of Montenegro on its path to the European Union.

The goal of Minister Bošković's visit to Slovenia is to further improve relations between the two countries, NATO allies in the field of defence, as well as to get acquainted with Slovenian experience in the field of Air Policing.
