Minister Pejović: Intensive activities - momentum of Montenegro's preparations for EU membership
Podgorica, Montenegro (8 February 2018) -- At today's session, the Cabinet approved the EU Accession Programme Report for 2017.
Minister of European Affairs Aleksandar Andrija Pejovic pointed out in a press statement following the Cabinet session that 308 out of 413 planned activities from the EU agenda were realised in 2017, or 75%. All these, as well as the fact that more than 300 laws and by-laws were passed in the past year, speaks volume about the momentum of Montenegro's preparations for EU membership, Minister Pejović said.
The Government also adopted today the negotiating position for Chapter 27 - Environment and Climate Change, which will be forwarded to the Bulgarian presidency today.
"New accession programme for 2018, 2019 and 2020, containing all proposed new activities in order to get closer to the EU standard, is planned to be approved next week," Minister Pejović concluded.
