Podgorica, Montenegro (12 February 2018) – Prime Minister Duško Marković hosted earlier today Ambassador of Norway to Montenegro Arne Sannes Bjornstad.

It was noted that Montenegro and Norway have developed bilateral cooperation, which gained new quality through partnership within NATO.

PM Marković informed the Norwegian Ambassador about the last years' successful results in terms of economy and achieving priorities of the EU accession. He thanked Ambassador Bjornstad for the support Norway has provided to Montenegro, in particular through a bilateral financial support programme, which corresponds to the priorities of the State and its development, announcing the continuation of support in 2018.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the projects and programmes implemented so far.

Ambassador Bjornstad noted that the Government of Norway will continue and double the volume of its bilateral financial support to Montenegro, with a focus on socio-economic development, as well as obligations from EU integration agenda and implementation of key reforms, thus confirming Norway's continued support for Montenegro and the Western Balkans.
