Minister of Foreign Affairs Srđan Darmanović participated today in the Global Coalition against Daesh that is being held in Kuwait. The hosts of the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

The focus of the meeting, which was the first since the great success achieved by the Coalition through the liberation of terror-controlled territories and the declaration of victory over ISIS, was the stabilisation and reconstruction of the liberated areas of Iraq and Syria.

During the presentation, Minister Darmanović reiterated Montenegro's commitment to the fight against terrorism, radicalism and extremism, and informed about Montenegro's efforts on the regional and global level in order to combat these security challenges. He emphasised the readiness of our state to take responsibility for projecting security and stability within its capabilities and to continue with the concrete contribution to the activities of the Global Coalition.

It was concluded that the Coalition has shown unity and great determination to defeat ISIS so far, and this approach has yielded concrete results, given that this terrorist organisation lost almost all the territories it controlled in Iraq and Syria. Further activities were agreed in order to completely defeat the ISIS, and to correct the consequences of their actions.
At the meeting, the principles of the future engagement of the Coalition were adopted in order to completely neutralise the activities of the ISIS.
