Prime Minister Marković is paying official visit to Republic Kosovo
Prime ministers of Montenegro and the Republic of Kosovo, Duško Marković and Ramush Haradinaj, agreed during today's official talks in Prishtina that the two neighbouring and close states foster high-quality, friendly and meaningful relations that should be further reinforced through developing economic cooperation, primarily in the areas of infrastructure, tourism and agriculture.
The meeting emphasised the importance of the completion of the process of constitutional recognition of the Montenegrin national community in Kosovo and the implementation of the Strategy for the affirmation and integration of the Montenegrin community and the related Action Plan.
At the initiative of Prime Minister Haradinaj, the meeting discussed the border agreement between Montenegro and the Republic of Kosovo. PM Marković reiterated that when it comes to Montenegro, this issue has been resolved, stressing that Montenegro is willing, through establishing dialogue and understanding with Kosovo, to help the country overcome this issue, by ratifying the agreement, as quickly as possible.
PM Marković pledged Montenegro’s full support to the Republic of Kosovo’s EU and NATO bids, expressing the country's willingness to transfer experiences from the integration processes.
In the context of the EU accession process, Prime Minister Marković noted that he considers this year extremely important for the entire region in view of the European Commission's strategy for the Western Balkans and other events that will further confirm and strengthen its European perspective.
