In the period from 15 to 19 May 2017, in cooperation with the European Commission, the Ministry of Science organized the second of the six training cycles for strengthening national participation in the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation – Horizon 2020 (2014–2020).
The five-day training was attended by representatives of scientific research institutions (Centre for Ecotoxicological Research of Montenegro and Office for Metrology), universities (Mediteran University), and the representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises (Wind LLC).
The training consisted of eight modules: the structure of the applicant institutions, project management, the structure of the H2020 programme, preparation of the project proposals, the preparation process, drafting of project proposals, evaluation of project proposals, and project implementation process.
During the training, which was conducted by Alex Percy Smith and Jacek Gajewski, experts of the IBF consulting company from Brussels, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the new concept of programme promotion at the national level.
The network of national contact persons for the thematic areas was presented by Branka Žižić, the National Coordinator for Horizon 2020 programme. The trainees also received more information on the activities on the implementation of the COST programme (European Cooperation in Science and Technology), presented by the national contact person Milena Milonjić.
The participants were very satisfied with the trainings and according to their statements they had acquired useful knowledge and skills necessary for application and proper development of project ideas.
The training was implemented within the Human Resources Development Operational Programme 2012–2013 (IPA Component IV and 2008–2013 financial perspective), through which the Framework Agreement “Strengthening National Participation in Horizon 2020” is being implemented.
The third and the fourth training cycles are planned for June 2017: the third one on 5-9 June and the fourth one on 26-30 June 2017.
