Public Administration Reform Council holds its fifth session

The Public Administration Reform Council held its fifth session today, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Internal and Foreign Policy Zoran Pažin.

At today's session, the Council discussed the Annual Report on the Implementation of the Action Plan Implementing the 2016-2020 Public Finance Management Reform Programme for the period January-December 2017. This document represents the first Annual Report for the revised Programme, covering the implementation period from 1 January to 31 December 2017, and provides a general overview of the most important results achieved during 2017.

The implementation of the objectives of the Public Finance Reform Programme 2016-2020 is of particular importance when it comes to coordinating efforts to meet the benchmarks for opening or closing accession negotiations in a number of negotiating chapters, in particular in the negotiating chapters: 5 - Public Procurement; 16 - Taxation; 17 - Economic and Monetary Policy, 29 - Customs Union, 32 - Financial Control, 33 - Financial and budgetary provisions, which are open, except for Chapter 17, it was stated at the session of the Council.

The report, in consultation with the European Union Delegation and the OECD / SIGMA recommendations, is prepared by the Ministry of Finance - Directorate for Financial System and Business Environment Enhancement, with the active participation of 14 different organizational units.

The Council prepared appropriate conclusions for the Government, which among other things imply that the Ministry of Finance, by the end of June this year, in cooperation with all the relevant institutions, will prepare an innovative version of the 2016-2020 Public Finance Management Reform Programme with the Action Plan.
