PM Marković thanks outgoing Ambassador Del Monaco for personal contribution to excellent relations between Montenegro and Italy

Podgorica, Montenegro (7 March 2018) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković hosted earlier today a farewell visit by Ambassador of Italy Vincenzo Del Monaco.

The meeting noted that Montenegro and Italy foster friendly relations characterised by strong and intense contacts at the highest level, as well as mutual support on the international scene.

Expressing his thanks to Ambassador Del Monaco for his five-year engagement Montenegro, the Prime Minister stressed that the two countries have significantly advanced mutual relations, due largely to the contribution of Ambassador Del Monaco.

The Ambassador of Italy reiterated that at the time of his diplomatic mandate, Montenegro has attained one of its strategic goals - NATO membership, adding that Italy strongly support Montenegro's European integration, stressing the progress made towards membership in the EU.

Ambassador Del Monaco thanked the Prime Minister for his good cooperation.
