PM Marković meets with Chairman of DP World Bin Sulayem: One of leading port operators in world interested in Port of Bar

Podgorica, Montenegro (8 March 2018) -- Prime Minister of Montenegro Duško Marković hosted today Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of the DP World Group, who is interested in privatising the Port of Bar.

The company DP World, which, among other things, manages 78 port and inland terminals in 40 countries on six continents, and whose last year's revenue exceeds $ 4 billion, expressed readiness to take over the management of the Port of Bar. On this occasion, the Prime Minister was acquainted with the activity of the company which, in addition to the management of ports and terminals, includes accompanying services and logistics, direct online connection with carriers and customs systems as well as accompanying businesses.

Prime Minister Marković expressed satisfaction with the interest for the Port of Bar expressed by this renowned global company, assessing that Montenegro needs this kind of partner in order to make the best use of its best and most promissing port resource.

“My goal, and the goal of the Government, is to put the resources in the function of development, from which Montenegro and our citizens will benefit,” PM Marković said, after he informed representatives of DP World about all relevant data concerning Montenegrin legal and tax system.
