Meeting Nurkovic - Muhamed Sajid: Highlighted Cooperation Agreements in Air and Maritime Transport

Nurkovic met with Minister of Transport, Logistics and Water Minister of
the Kingdom of Morocco, Mr Abdelkader
Amar in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco. Minister Nurkovic responded to the
invitation of his Moroccan colleague in order to establish better co-operation
between the two states.
Minister
Nurkovic introduced Mr Amar with the meetings he had with the non-resident Ambassador of
the Kingdom of Morocco in Montenegro, Mr. Mohamed
Amine Belhajem, as well as with Minister for Tourism, Air Traffic, Domestic
Handicrafts and Social Economy of the Kingdom of Morocco, Mr Muhammad Sayid. In this occasion, key
points of cooperation in the field of transport and maritime affairs have been
defined, and the Cooperation Agreement on Air Transport and the Agreement on
Co-operation in the Field of Maritime Traffic have been emphasized. With regard
to the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Air Traffic, the Ministry of
Transport and Maritime Affairs has submitted a draft of the aforementioned
Agreement to the Kingdom of Morocco, which is currently working on the same. In
the area of maritime affairs, the Ministry of Transport, Logistics and Water
Ministry of the Kingdom of Morocco has submitted a draft to Montenegrin side of
the Agreement and is currently working on aligning the text on the basis of
comments submitted by the Montenegrin side.
In
order to sign the aforementioned Agreements, which would contribute to the
economic development of the two countries, as well as the deepening of the
friendly relations between the two countries, Amar has proposed visiting his
team of experts in Montenegro at the end of April this year to allow two
ministry experts to meet and discuss in detail the common interests and share
experiences and knowledge in maritime affairs as well as logistics. At the
meeting it was emphasized that two areas of importance for cooperation between
the two countries are commercial maritime traffic and nautical tourism.
We
remind that the Montenegrin Government Delegation was led by the Minister of
Traffic and Maritime Affairs, Osman Nurkovic stayed in Morocco for participation
to the Crans Montana Forum, which is held this year in Dakhli, Morocco, from
15. to 20. March. The Crans Montana Forum is organized under the auspices of
King Mohammed VI and brings together
leaders of governments and governments, ministers, regional and international
organizations, delegates and business representatives from all over the world,
and thus represents a unique platform for sharing knowledge and experience and
promoting Montenegro's potential. Minister Nurkovic exhibited at a special
session of the Crans Montana Harbor Club on the key role of the maritime
industry for the world economy, and also participated at the International
Conference dedicated to the Silk Road.
At
the margins of the Crans Montana Forum, the minister also met with his lord. Nozipho Portia Mdawe, Secretary General
of the Harbor Management Association in East and South Africa. The Minister
presented the potentials of Montenegro related to nautical tourism and took
advantage of the opportunity to highlight a significant number of Montenegrin
seamen who are sailing today on foreign shipping companies, whose number is
about 7,000. Montenegro is on the white list of European Union countries,
referring to the quality of educational programs in high schools and maritime
schools, and training at various training centers. Mrs. Mdawe expressed the
desire to exchange experience and cooperation in the field of nautical tourism,
as well as the education of sailors coming from East and South Africa.
