PM Marković praises implementation of development projects in Bar, requests activation of potentials to contribute to country’s development
Bar, Montenegro (27 March 2018) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković told earlier today while visiting the municipality of Bar that he is satisfied with the high level of projects’ implementation, but asked the Bar management not to look at the potentials of the municipality from the local aspect only, but to activate all the potentials that could contribute to the development of the entire country. In that regard, the Prime Minister emphasised the importance of the Bar-Boljare motorway, future Adriatic-Ionian road, Bar – Belgrade railway and the Port of Bar.
The Prime Minister told the management of the municipality of Bar, headed by Mayor Zoran Srzentić and President of the Municipal Assembly Radomir Novaković, that the Government will strongly support Bar, as well as other municipalities that successfully implement their projects, thus contributing to increasing the living standards and quality of life of citizens.
Prime Minister Marković asked the Bar municipality’s management to immediately launch the appropriate procedures for the reconstruction of the local road Vladimirska Kruta - Bar - Sutorman – Virpazar, but also for its overgrown into a regional road that would provide Bar and Ulcinj with a new high-quality alternative road.
Today’s meeting discussed several ideas for resolving traffic congestion problems in the tourist season, emphasising that the problem should be at least temporarily solved. The Prime Minister stressed that such an important project will receive funding as soon as the local leadership has provided appropriate projects and procedures.
The Prime Minister of Montenegro and the management of the municipality of Bar exchanged opinions on other development issues of local importance, as well as the importance for Montenegro as a whole.
The Prime Minister noted that he has established the practice of paying visits to local communities in order to facilitate the implementation of development projects through open discussions with municipal authorities.
"This way we will try to valorise our potentials faster and more successfully, and create a new value that should be reflected in creating new jobs, hiring people and increasing the living standards," said the Prime Minister.
