Podgorica, Montenegro (3 April 2018) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković met today with Managing Director of Porto Montenegro David Margason, and fully supported the development plans and projects of our most prestigious tourist brand.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister was informed about Porto Montenegro's development plans and projects for this and the following years which include the construction of sports grounds, supermarkets, space for organising large sports and music events, extension of the main promenade, construction of several accommodation and catering facilities, and more, which will contribute to the further improvement of the offer of Porto Montenegro and the creation of new jobs.

The Managing Director of Porto Montenegro informed the Prime Minister about the excellent sale of tourism capacities of this resort, as well as the willingness for investments that include the use of the hinterland of Porto Montenegro.

The Prime Minister welcomed the ambitious development plans of Porto Montenegro, pointing out that he believes that further improvement of this resort is one of the most important projects for the development of Montenegro as a whole. “This is a project that has changed and continues to change Montenegro and helps to escape from provincial philosophy and enables a better understanding of what all in our country can be transformed into a new value for the benefit of citizens,” the Prime Minister said.

Prime Minister Marković and Managing Director Margason agreed that the faster the valorisation of the shipyard in Bijela is crucial for completing Porto Montenegro’s offer, as long as there is already interest in overhauling 50-60 mega yachts a year. The Director of Porto Montenegro said on this occasion that the goal is to recruit former experienced shipbuilding experts.

Director of Government Affairs in Porto Montenegro Predrag Leković also attended the meeting.
