PM Marković meets with student delegation: We leave safe state of European values to your generation; you will use benefits of EU
Podgorica,
Montenegro (4 April 2018) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković told students today that, after joining NATO and
securing Montenegro's security and European values, the foreign policy priority
of the Government is a continuation of a successful European integration
process so that the generation of today's students could enjoy all the benefits
of a state fully integrated into the European Union.
“It is important that we allow your generation, at the beginning
of your career, to be able to use all the opportunities provided by the
European Union and European values, including the full freedom of employment
and training across the continent,” the Prime Minister said to the delegation
of the Student Parliament of the University of Montenegro, led by President of
this student organisation Sara Arianna
Serhatlić.
The Prime Minister informed the students about the
Government’s successful results on the economic plan, stating that economic
development and raising the living standards of citizens is the most important
continuous goal of the Government.
“We note the economic growth and good filling of the budget
at the beginning of this year. This suggests that our success in 2017 was not
accidental and that we can expect good results this year, too. These data, with
the interest of renowned investors for Montenegro, indicate that the prospect
is good. It is important that you, as young people, have this information,” PM
Duško Marković said.
The
Student Parliament delegation congratulated the Prime Minister on good economic
results and informed him about their priorities: organising the Assembly of the
European Students' Union in Montenegro, further improvement of University
infrastructure, work on the Law on Youth, unemployment in general, results and
challenges of the Vocational Training Programme.
The
Prime Minister and the Student Parliament delegation agreed on the priorities
in improving the infrastructure of the University of Montenegro regarding
concrete projects for this and the next year.
PM
Marković accepted the offer of the Student Parliament to be the President of
the Honorary Committee for the organisation of the Assembly of the European
Students' Union, which should be held in our country by the end of the year.
Congratulating
the students on the Student Day, the Prime Minister thanked the Student
Parliament for supporting the policies of the Government, especially in the
case of High Medical School in Berane.
“Your
support was precious, because it also confirmed that we are right and that we
conduct the right policy for the benefit of students and all citizens,”
the Prime Minister highlighted.
