PM Marković meets heads of inspection services: Budgetary revenues collection above planned, we need to resolve illegal taxi drivers issue

Podgorica, Montenegro (20 April 2018) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković noted earlier today at a regular meeting with heads of inspection services that the budget revenues generated since the beginning of the year are above the plan and above the last year's results, and that the overall economic results are good, adding that the Government responded to a great extent to the challenges of increasing budget revenues
The Department of Public Revenues presented the results according to which EUR 107,616,690.35 was collected in March 2018, EUR 11,473,806.35 more than planned, or EUR 15,580,506.94 more than in March 2017. In the first quarter of 2018, the Department of Public Revenues collected EUR 233,422,935.62, which is EUR 15 million above the plan, or 27 million more than in the first quarter of 2017.
In the first quarter of 2018, the Customs Administration made a total payment of EUR 142.6 million, which is EUR 10.3 million, or 7.86% more than in the first quarter of 2017.
The meeting pointed out that it is necessary to review the growth of revenues in 2018 in relation to the fact that the VAT rate has been increased since 1 January 2018.
The Administration for Inspection Affairs has drafted a Dynamic Plan for engaging all inspection services putting particular focus on the field of labour market.
The meeting agreed that it is necessary to hold a meeting of the management of the Department of Public Revenues and other competent bodies, as well as other involved parties, with representatives of the Trade Union of the Taxi Drivers of Montenegro and the Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro to resolve the issue of illegal taxi drivers.
