PM Marković meets with leader of EUROCHAMBERS and representatives of WB Chambers of Economy: Business community is our partner
Podgorica,
Montenegro (20 April 2018) -- On the occasion of marking the jubilee of 90
years of the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, Prime Ministe Duško Marković met with President of
the Chamber of Economy Vlastimir
Golubović, President of the Association of Chambers of Commerce and
Industry (EUROCHAMBERS) and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber Christoph Leitl, and representatives of
the chambers of economy of the countries of the region.
The
Prime Minister informed the guests about the excellent economic results of the
Government in the past period, noting that all relevant indicators show that
Montenegro is progressing on the path of reaching the European standard of
living.
"Economic
growth, improvement of the credit rating and the issuance of Eurobonds by the
most favorable conditions so far, confirms that we successfully solve the
public debt challenge in the medium term," the Prime Minister said.
Christoph Leitl,
in his capacity as head of EUROCHAMBERS; a European network of 2000 regional
and local chambers, congratulated the Prime Minister on the progress of our
country made in European and Euro-Atlantic integration, assessing that these
processes directly boost the economy and strengthens the business environment.
"Your
country is already fully integrated into the European business community,"
he said.
PM Marković said tonight that our country crossed the extremely difficult route fropm the once least developed state of the former Yugoslavia to the leading economy on the Western Balkan region, and that this demanding journey was marked by the wise and courageous decisions by which Montenegro has shown its place in the modern world.
The Prime Minister pointed out the fact that Montenegro is currently one of the fastest growing European economies, that our international partners see it, as well as that the European Commission stated in the Report that it especially values the economic policy of the Government, but also our policy of good neighbourly relations and progress in the rule of law.
"I would like to emphasise that on that occasion we also received recognition for a responsible and harmonised foreign policy, which provides our citizens, businessmen and investors with high guarantees of stability and security," the Prime Minister said.
