Government's officials visit burnt Franca factory in Bijelo Polje: State will help build a new factory

Bijelo Polje (30 April 2018) -- Government of Montenegro and the Municipality of Bijelo Polje will help reconstruct the production of Franca factory and build a new factory instead of the one burned last night. It was agreed at a meeting the Government of Montenegro's officials had with the representatives of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje and Franca company late this afternoon.

Minister of Economy Dragica Sekulić told the press that a concrete plan of the steps has been made and that a working team, composed of representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of the Interior, Secretariat for Development Projects, and the Investment and Development Fund and other institutions, has been set up with the task of helping the meat production and processing factory.

She added that it is important that the Franca company, as a Montenegrin brand, keep production as the tourist season is ahead of us.

Deputy Prime Minister Milutin Simović said earlier today that he is sure that a new factory with an even bigger capacity will be built on the foundations of the burned one.

He stressed that at this moment the most important thing is that there were no casualties in the fire, and that everything else will be compensated "in partnership with the local government and Government of Montenegro".
