During the visit, Mr. Mully visited the Maritime Operations Center of the Marine Safety Depratment at Dobra voda in Bar and met with the work of the VTS Service, the Coastal Radio Station of Barradio and the Coordination Center for Tracing and Rescue at Sea - MRCC Bar.

At the meeting was analyzed the successful cooperation of the EMSA with the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs and the Maritime Safety Department, which is reflected in providing technical support to Montenegro, exchanging data relevant for maritime security and conducting various training for the employed at the Ministry and Department in order to reach European standards and the increase in the degree of maritime safety and protection of the sea from pollution from the watercraft in Montenegro.

Mr Mully at the meeting commended Montenegro's progress towards achieving EU standards in the field of maritime security, thanks, inter alia, to modern maritime surveillance systems operating within the Maritime Safety Department. The meeting also analyzed the participation of Montenegro, the Maritime Safety Department, European Maritime Safety Systems as the EU LRIT Data Center, CleanSeaNet and SafeSeaNet managed by EMSA.

We remind that earlier the European Commission has approved the participation of Montenegro in the EU LRIT Data Center and CleanSeaNet and that these two systems have been successfully implemented in Montenegro for a number of years. Recently, the European Commission has approved Montenegro's participation in the SafeSeaNet system, whose implementation is underway and the official accession of Montenegro to this important European maritime system is expected soon.
