PM Marković visits construction site of Motorway: I expect additional efforts and commitment from all entities involved in Montenegrin historical construction project
During
today's visit to the construction site of the priority section of the Motorway,
Prime Minister of Montenegro Duško
Marković expressed his satisfaction with the works carried out so far and requested
additional efforts and commitment from all the entities involved in the project
so that the activities were even more
intensive, and our most important infrastructure project was completed as soon
as possible and at the highest level of quality.
The
performance and operation of all system components were analysed at the meeting,
which was attended, in addition to the representatives of the Government as an
investor and CRBC as a contractor, by the delegations of Monteput, State Audit
Commission and the French-Italian Consortium Ingerop Conseil & Ingenierie –
Geodata Engineering, as a supervisory authority.
It
was estimated that previous works have been carried out well and within the
deadlines, after initial delays in 2016. The meeting also concluded that
efforts need to be intensified, noting that it is necessary to speed up
implementation in the daily communication and, where possible, to shorten the
deadlines, as well as to complete as soon as possible the work on the projects for
the supply of electricity and water and projects, and for the construction of
the Smokovac connection, so that the realisation of these projects could begin
already this summer.
The
meeting pointed to the fact that both countries – Montenegro and the People's Republic
of China – do not look at this project from the economic point of view only,
but also see it as the result of quality bilateral relations, and a project
that can serve as a good example.
Prime
Minister Marković said at the meeting that, thanks to the successful economic
policy of the Government, the budget has enough money for the project of the
Motorway, adding that there will be no one more satisfied than him, as the
Prime Minister, when all the foreseen money is spent, because it will mean that
all the foreseen works are completed.
Prime
Minister Marković visited the construction site of the Motorway in order to
personally confirm the flow of works. On that occasion, he expressed his
satisfaction with what he saw.
"Today, as
before, I had the opportunity to see very intensive works on this Montenegrin
historical construction project, implemented through CRBC and their
subcontractors. I am already the third time on this site, with the intent to support
the contractor and all efforts that are going to make this project complete
within the agreed time," the Prime Minister said at the construction site
of the Motorway near the tunnel and bridge in Gornje Mrke.
The Prime
Minister noted that this is a very demanding and complex construction project
that is exposed to various types of risks and impacts. Therefore, as he
stressed, all the necessary safety measures must be taken, while the works are
running smoothly.
"Today, at
this location, we see that the works continue intensively. At the moment, more
than 3,500 workers are engaged on the Motorway. Mr. Hei (Shiqiang, Director
of CRBC Monetengro) told me that by the end of the month, it will be about
4,000 workers. Because the weather conditions are being improved, new machines
will be delivered and we are all in the mood, we all have the intention to
stand firm with this project and ensure its quality completion in the time and,
of course, in the required quality," the Prime Minister said.
The Prime
Minister expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the Montenegrin company
Bemax, the contractor at the site he visited, managed to meet the highest
standards.
"I want to
congratulate them on that. This means that with this project we will also get
companies that are able not only to carry out such projects in Montenegro, but
I believe that they will be competitive in the regional and wider European
market. So, congratulations to CRBC and Bemax as a subcontractor," Prime
Minister Marković said.
