SOFIA: Prime Ministers of Montenegro, Netherlands agree on enhanced dialogue on continuing our integration into EU

Sofia, Bulgaria (17 May 2018) -- Prime Ministers of Montenegro and the Netherlands, Duško Marković and Mark Rutte, agreed today at a meeting held in Sofia on the sidelines of the EU – Western Balkans Summit to be in an enhanced dialogue in order to exchange information on a regular basis, especially on the subject of our European integration process.

Prime Minister Marković thanked the Netherlands for its support in the process of our integration into NATO and the EU.

The meeting noted that Montenegro meets most of the obligations from the integration process. In this context, Prime Minister Rutte particularly praised our foreign and security policy as fully compatible with European policies. It was also assessed at the meeting that Montenegro's policy on the region of the Western Balkans strengthens the stability of the region.

The Prime Ministers of Montenegro and the Netherlands agreed that it is very important to effectively fulfill the obligations in the field of the rule of law in the continuation of our integration into the European Union. In that context, they agreed to be in touch and enhance the dialogue in order to exchange relevant information in a timely manner.
